SRK, Ranbir, Deepika to do Pepsi ad

They were pitted against each other last Diwali when their movies, Om Shanti Om and Saawariya released on the same day.

But today, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are on the same side of the fence.

The actors are coming together in an advertisement for Pepsi.

SRK's costar in OSO, Deepika Padukone, will also join in.

Our sources inform that the ad will be shot in Mumbai by Abhinay Deo, son of veteran Marathi actor, Ramesh Deo.

Quite an interesting combination to watch out for

Guess how much money SRK's clothes made

Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om did not only make good money at the box office, it made a lot of it in stores as well!

The film, which tied up with popular retail chain Shopper's Stop, made a whooping Rs 60 million on its clothing line in three months alone.

Speaking at the Indian Fashion Forum event, Fashioning Bollywood, with retail brands in Mumbai, B S Nagesh, Shopper's Stop managing director, said, "It's time fashion retailers and Bollywood joined hands and left behind any inhibition about the lack of professionalism that exists in the film industry."

In his statement he revealed that the total sale generated through the OSO line at Shopper's Stop was Rs 60 million.

"This clearly signifies the returns that can be generated through a successful association with the film industry," Nagesh stated.

During the film's release, Shah Rukh and the OSO cast strutted their outfits at a fashion show, amid much cheering.

Shopper's Stop then launched the 1970s style clothing like bell bottoms and jazzy jackets, similar to what SRK and his costar Deepika Padukone wore in the film.

Bollywood's new faces, 2008

Anurag Sinha

Everyone's been wondering about the intense looking boy in the promos of Subhash Ghai's Black and White.

Meet the showman's latest discovery -- Anurag Sinha. As opposed to the lavish love stories Ghai is known to launch newcomers with, Black and White has the FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) graduate playing a rookie terrorist.

His heroine in the enterprise, Aditi Sharma made her debut last year with the lame Khanna & Iyer.

Shweta Kumar

Perhaps when her father, producer-director Indra Kumar directed Madhuri Dixit in blockbusters like Dil, Beta and Raja, she secretly hoped 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon'.

Her dream is all set to come true as she bags Tina Munim's role opposite nasal sensation, Himesh Reshammiya in the new version of Karz, titled, Karzzzz.

Chirag Paswan

Another politician's son is bitten by the Bollywood bug.

After Ritiesh Deshmukh, it is Lok Janshakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan's son -- Chirag's turn to try his luck at the movies. The light-eyed bloke will be seen in Anuj Saxena's untitled venture.

Mimoh Chakravarthy

If Mimoh is as adept as papa Mithun in shaking a leg and mouthing one-liners, this long-haired star son should have no problem making it big.

With four releases in the works -- Jimmy, India Rocks, Hamilton Palace and an untitled film with R Mohan, Mimoh is as productive as it gets.

Farhan Akhtar

He's no newcomer to the world of films, though it's certainly a first as an actor.

Director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar, with his wild good looks and uber cool attitude, appears like an winning proposition on screen.

Besides the indie drama, Fakir of Venice, Farhan strums the guitar for Abhishek Kapoor's Rock On and sister Zoya's Luck By Chance.

Sikander Kher

Anupam and Kirron Kher's son Sikander is all set to make his debut with Hansal Mehta's long-delayed thriller Woodstock Villa.

The unconventional looker is also a part of a coming-of-age flick, Summer of 2007 co-starring Dor's Gul Panag.

Harman Baweja

He's expected to be the next best thing in Bollywood. But filmmaker Harry Baweja's handsome son is lying low until his big budget sci-fi debut, Love Story 2050 hits the marquee.

Helmed by daddy Baweja, the futuristic action romance stars Priyanka Chopra, whom he is rumoured to be seeing, as his leading lady.

Prachi Desai

The small screen bahu changes gears to turn big screen rockstar in Rock On. The bubbly teenager is confident of making a mark in this medium too. Hopefully, Ekta Kapoor's blue-eyed Bani will receive a warm welcome from the fans of television soap Kasamh Se for her film debut as well.

John-Aishwarya & baseless rumours

Rumor mongers may be having a field day in inventing trouble for the yet untitled film starring John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai, but the fact is completely different.

Though there have been some media reports indicating that John Abraham is miffed with this Rohan Sippy production being delayed for yet another month, it is hardly the case.

Confirms Sriram Raghavan, popularly known as the man behind films like 'Johnny Gaddaar' and 'Ek Haseena Thi', "John and me had a hearty laugh at the report which came out a few days back.

It was imagination at work overtime when it was published that John was unhappy about the film being delayed. First of all, what delay?

It has just been moved by around a month since I am fine tuning the script. Both John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai understand this and know that this is only for the eventual betterment of the film."

What kind of fine tuning is Sriram doing to the script? Last heard, he was ready and raring to go.

"That's right", says Sriram, "And frankly speaking I can get started and shoot at least 60 percent of the film on the trot without batting an eyelid.

It's just that the more I look at the film's climax, the more I feel that the desired punch is missing in the climax.

I myself believe that there should be a high introduced in the closing portions of the film, something which struck me more as I was narrating the film to the cast."

"If I tweak the concluding part, it would require me to take the changes in close to 40 percent of the film. I want to get this all right before getting into the shooting.

Fortunately or unfortunately, writing a script is not really a tangible activity where one can lock himself for 10 days and come back with bound literature.

In any case, I have always maintained a particular amount of raw stock which I want to utilize while filming and don't believe in going overboard", adds Sriram.

Sriram may be convinced about spending a few extra days in getting the script right, but what does his busy leading players have to say on this? Aren't they turning impatient?

"They are truly with the film, but yes the fact cannot be ignored that they are busy people and have other engagements too. However, that's ok.

Even if there is a gap of around 1-2 months in between the shoot when John and Ash have to get busy with their other commitments, I have got enough on my plate to utilize that time.

Making of the music and other post production related work should keep me busy."

On his part John Abraham has always maintained that he is looking forward to teaming up with Sriram who has given a new dimension to he careers of Saif Ali Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

He had earlier stated, "What attracts me towards Sriram Raghavan is the kind of cinema he makes. He comes with an out of the box thought process which is great.

I like working with like minded people, whether it is Anurag Kashyap or Sriram Raghavan. I can't wait to face the camera with Sriram calling the shots."

Meanwhile, the film is still waiting for its title. Sriram continues to look for a zany title which would create an immense sense of excitement amongst the audience.

Till then he asks one to wait and watch for the film's title by concluding with a chuckle, "Khandaan Ka Pata Chalte Hi Sabse Pehle Aapko Bataenge." -Joginder Tuteja

Tamil nadu Assembly debate about Shriya's outfit:WTF

The controversy over Tamil actress Shriya's outfit has erupted all over again.

On Monday, in the Tamil Nadu assembly, Pattali Makkal Katchi member T Velmurugan launched an attack against Tamil television channels, accusing them of airing obscene shows.

A considerable time was spent in the assembly debating whether the government should impose a dress code after seeing Shreya, and another Tamil actress Namita (left), in clothes the law-makers thought were too revealing.

Some of them suggested that action must be taken so that public decency is maintained.

But since when did the government get to decide what people can wear? Do you think the Tamil Nadu government has gone too far with this issue? Or do you think a dress code should be in place for the sake of impressionable youngsters?

This is the height of stupidity instead of discussing about real issues these morons waste time over such trivial issues

Subliminal Marketing:Mallika Sherawat B()()Bs in the air

Use your imagination

The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai girl grows up!

Sana Saeed won everyone’s hearts when she played Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Anjali in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

After appearing in a couple of television shows and ads, Sana disappeared. But now, she’s back in the new telly soap, Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na.

Today, the 19-year-old girl looks very different from the spoilt girl she played in the 1997 blockbuster, when she was only nine.

Deepika charging more than Ash!

It may seem to be incredible, but the truth is that ‘one film wonder’ Deepika Padukone is proving to be costlier than former Miss World Aishwarya Rai to the film producers.

Before her entry into Bollywood, Deepika was talked about more because of her string of boyfriends, but today she is also in the news for demanding exorbitant rates for acting in films.

Soon after the resounding success of the Shah Rukh-Deepika starrer ‘Om Shani Om’, a producer from south India Shankar, who made the super hit film ‘Shivaji –The Boss’ with Rajnikanth, had approached the former model for the female lead role in his forthcoming film ‘Robot’, but Deepika is reported to have charged such a high fee which left the producer stunned as well as silent.

Next, Shankar approached Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan for the role, but there is no confirmation whether the actress has said yes.

Sources close to the former beauty queen revealed that though money is no factor with Aishwarya, she is basically running a tight schedule.

After having completed the magnum opus ‘Jodhaa-Akbar’, Aishwarya has just completed shooting for an international project ‘Pink Panther – 2’ and ‘Sarkar Raj’. Currently, the actress, her husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan and mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan are holidaying in the ‘pink city of Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Producer Shankar has once again signed up his favorite super hero Rajnikanth for ‘Robot’, where the actor will be seen in the role of a scientist who creates a robot for the benefit of mankind.

However, the robot, like Frankenstein, turns again mankind and Rajnikanth works hard to bring it back to control. A whole lot of special techniques and special effects will be used in this semi-science fiction.

Now, what is worth mentioning is that perhaps the success of ‘Om Shanti Om’ has gone into the head of Deepika, who has let go of an opportunity to work in a big budget film opposite South superstar Rajnikanth only for the sake of money.

This move may prove to be costly for Deepika and she may not even get the opportunity to make amends. For Bollywood does not offer time to make amends!

Emraan Hashmi’s marriage is on the rocks

Emraan Hashmi’s marriage is on the rocks. The actor, bestknown for his on-screen kisses, married his long-time sweetheart Parveen Shahani about a year ago. Emraan and Parveen had been going around for almost five years before they tied the knot. The marriage hit troubled waters when Parveen, who is a school teacher, recently got to know about Emraan’s close relationship with a Pakistani girl, Sanaa. Parveen was particularly upset when she learnt that Emraan and the new woman in his life had spent some private moments in Cape Town.
According to a reliable source, Sanaa’s parents promptly called Emraan’s uncle Mahesh Bhatt and informed him about his nephew’s secret liaison. Mahesh intervened and summoned Emraan to his Juhu office on Wednesday afternoon.
The filmmaker tried explaining to Emraan that he was not doing the right thing. The conversation, which started off as a discussion, gradually snowballed into a heated argument and then a big showdown.
According to our source, “Mahesh told Emraan to live a steady marital life and focus on his career. Mahesh was simply advising Emraan for his good but Emraan thought that Mahesh was interfering in his life.”
We first tried calling Emraan but he did not respond to our calls. We then sent him a text message to confirm the chain of events, which have rocked his personal life.
Although Emraan did not give out any details about his tumultuous personal life, he didn’t deny the news either. His reply read, “Don’t f*** me man.”
We then contacted Mahesh Bhatt. Considering that this is his family matter, a usually outspoken Mahesh chose to be less forthcoming this time. He said, “I am hardly in a position to moralise. But it’s true that I did tell Emraan to deal with the affair with sanity or bear the consequences.”
At the time of Emraan’s marriage, Mahesh had said, “My wife (Soni Razdan) gave Emraan two candle stands. The two candle stands are meant to see Emraan through the ‘nights’ of life. The highs and lows of life are inevitable in the entertainment business and there will be many turbulent phases. The candle stands will help him cope with them.”
We hope Mahesh’s candles work for Emraan before things get out of hand for him

Kareena Kapoor thrown out!!!

If the rumors in the industry circles are to be believed, despite here resounding success during 2007, especially ‘Jab We Met’, and hiked performance price, Kareena Kapoor has been dropped from director Imtiaz Ali’s next film.

Rejecting Kareena for a role in his film, Imtiyaz Ali has chosen the currently hot Bollywood glamour girl Deepika Padukone for the film.

Worse still, in a recent interview, director Imtiyz Ali has told a magazine that he had taken Kareena Kapoor for ‘Jab We Met’ even without liking the actress’ acting qualities and he stressed that Kareena is not a good actress at all.

Incidentally, Imtiaz Ali, who was the director of ‘Jab We Met’, has even ignored the recommendations of Saif Ali Khan the hero of his next untitled film, and rejected his girlfriend Kareena Kapoor to opt for Deepika Padukone.

More interestingly, Saif Ali Khan is not only the hero of the film, but it is going to be Saif's first film production!

Sources said that Saif Ali Khan had recommended Kareena Kapoor for their new film, but the director rejected Saif’s pleas.

Going by the standards in Bollywood, this is something significant as normally the directors seldom have the guts to ignore the requests of the hero and more so when he is also the producer of the movie.

But many here would want to know if the director would have the same guts to reject a request either by Shah Rukh Khan or Aameer Khan!

Priyanka's fighting a losing battle

Priyanka Chopra is fighting the battle of bulge these these days. The actress has beencast in Madhur Bhandarkar's next fashion and need to shed at least 8 kilograms to look like a real model.

She weighed about 54 kg when she signed the film and only managed to lose 4 kg till date. Considering that Priyanka’s co-stars in the film – Kangana Ranaut and Mugdha Godse – are so thin Priyanka has been told to get in shape to not look odd with her co-stars.

So the actress has been working out religiously been toiling on treadmills and following a strict diet.

Rita Dhody, who is Priyanka’s stylist in Fashion says, “Priyanka is working out and dieting and has already lost 4 kg in six weeks. I think she is looking fine. At the rate she is shedding weight, she should lose about 1.5 to 2 kg in the next two weeks.

One needs to understand that all models can’t be anorexic. Priyanka has a different bone structure and a very well-defined feminine body. Priyanka is not stick thin. And in the fashion industry, no matter how much weight one loses it’s never enough.”

Fashion is produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and UTV.

Genelia's Childhood Pics

Diamonds are a girl's best friend

Diamonds might be a girl's best friend. A Bollywood Queen Bee, however, holds dear her share of gold, silver, kundan, minakari, gems and pearls too. rediff.com showcases some exquisite jewelery worn by our heroines in the movies recently.

Jodhaa Akbar

Playing a Rajput princess can be a hard day's work when adorned with these many jewels. Yet Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks armed to kill in elaborate pieces of gold, diamond and pearls for Ashutosh Gowarikar's magnum opus, Jodhaa Akbar

Devdas

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's extravagant version of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel is every jewelery aficionado's dream come true. If Madhuri Dixit looks a million bucks in her gold jhumkis and kundan haars, Ash is aristocracy personified in her choice of antique ornaments.

Paheli

Precious bodhlas, intricate naths, sparkling kangans and studded necklaces (helmed by jewlery brand Tanishq) have their own stories to share even as they sit pretty on an equally gorgeous Rani Mukerji in the Rajasthani fairy tale, Paheli.

Veer-Zaara

Preity Zinta dumps her usual urban chick look to deck up in lavish diamond-emerald chokers and teekas for Yash Chopra's Indo-Pak romance.

Umrao Jaan

The best thing about playing a Bollywood courtesan is the bling factor. Costume drama veteran, Aishwarya is a sight to behold in her shiny, bejeweled avatar for J P Dutta's lackluster remake of the Muzzaffar Ali's classic.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

In Karan Johar flicks, everyone's loaded, leads a lavish lifestyle and breaks into a elaborately choreographed jig. And that probably explains why the three ladies of K3G -- Jaya Bachchan, Kajol and Kareena Kapoor sashay in their best gold finery and diamond sets round the clock.

Eklavya

Considering Vidhu Vinod Chopra's visually arresting Eklavya revolves around a palace and its mysteries, the opulence is reflected in Vidya Balan and Raima Sen's adornments as well.

Om Shanti Om

Playing a Dreamy Girl in Om Shanti Om offered hot entrant Deepika Padukone ample scope to showcase filmi junk jewels in all its glory.

Parineeta

Yet another adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's beloved story witnesses Vidya Balan make a pretty picture in jadau trinkets and chandelier earrings.

Zubeidaa

From vintage pieces and uncut diamonds to precious gemstones and pearl strings, Karisma Kapoor and Rekha displayed an array of jewellery in Shyam Benegal's poignant Zubeidaa.
