“Today morning, I eloped from home and got married to Sirish Bharadwaj. I am 19 years old and he is 22. Since we are majors, we have the right to get married. We got married in Arya Samaj temple today. We have been in love for the past four years and decided to get married this year. We want support from the media and the police because of threats from my family’s side,” said Srija.

Interestingly, for the last two years, Sirish and Srija had been in touch with NDTV seeking help to get married.

Chiranjeevi’s close associates to whom the channel spoke to after the news broke said Wednesday’s developments came as a bolt from the blue.
