Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar's last release Tashan may have failed to continue his dream run at the B.O. However the superstar has put the failure of Tashan behind him and is looking forward to his other releases this year. One of his most awaited films includes the Anees Bazmee directed action-comedy, Singh is Kinng where he is paired opposite the gorgeous Katrina Kaif.

Akshay & Katrina were recently seen shooting a song in the picturesque locales of Egypt. Kumar is seen dressed in a typical Sardar get up with pagdi et al while Katrina is at her glowing best in a pink dress.


The duo was joined by some local dancers as they shot at some exotic locales in Cairo. What's more the Bollywood stars even seemed to have some fans in Egypt whom they happily obliged with autographs and pictures. The Akki- Kat duo delivered two big hits last year with Welcome and Namastey London. Will they be able to recreate the magic this time around? One will have to wait and watch

Paresh Rawal may be coming across as a spoilt dad in Priyadarshan's Mere Baap Pehle Aap. However, in real life too, his naughty streaks are getting visible, courtesy the remark that he just made about Mallika Sherawat.

Recently, Paresh Rawal insisted that Mallika was the root cause of all the global warming. This came as a result of his close interaction with the Murder actress, courtesy Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam. In the film, he plays a key role along with Mallika Sherawat, Rahul Bose and Kay Kay Menon.

On being asked whether it was a spur of moment statement made by the usually politically correct actor or did he truly mean it, the veteran actor said, "Of course, I was serious when I said that she is the root cause of all global warming. I mean see the kind of vibes she exudes when she is on the sets."

s "See, it is not just skin show which could make someone hot. Sometimes just the way a woman carries herself is good enough for her to make her presence felt in a big way. She truly carries herself off as a Diva and this is exactly the reason why we all used to miss her when she wasn't on the sets."

In the past, even Rahul Bose has been said to be mighty impressed after working with her in Pyaar Ke Side Effects. The chemistry of two altogether different individuals was there to be seen in the Saket Chaudhary film and the result was Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam which sees the two pairing up again.

While Pyaar Ke Side Effects was a surprise success, it doesn't seem likely that there would be any eyebrows raised if Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam goes on to be a success. Arriving under the banner of Venus Records & Tapes produced by Ratan Jain, Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam is heating up the trade circles ever since it's first look was out.

The film is creating quite some excitement since it appears to be based on comedy theater shows with each of the prime actors in the film - Rahul Bose, Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon - seemingly playing comic characters from the past and contemporary era.

Maan Gaye Mughall-E-Azam is directed by Sanjay Chhel who had debuted with Sanjay Dutt-Urmila Matondkar starrer 'Khoobsurat' and had followed it up with Tusshar Kapoor-Esha Deol starrer Kya Dil Ne Kaha.

As the adjoining picture 'crystal clearly' depicts, the 'Lady in Red' Kareena Kapoor looks more than a million bucks in her forthcoming film Main Aur Mrs Khanna with Salman Khan. The film's that's being directed by the debutante Prem Soni also stars Sohail Khan.



Not the one to mince her words and feelings, Kareena, had earlier said that she was tad nervous to work with Salman Khan, despite the fact that she had earlier worked together with him in Kyon Ki. History also has it that there were two mega films with this pair that never saw the light of the day, for many unknown reasons. These films were Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Baajirao Mastani and Salman Khan's home production My Punjabi Nikaah.

After having put 'Size Zero' behind her, Kareena seems to have put on some weight. If the glow on her face is any indication, then, one wonders how lucky and 'Saif' must be her real-life. What say, Kareena!

Trust the man to mouth the wittiest of lines with a dead pan expression; even though all the fun is at his expense!

While Bollywood insiders and followers are impatiently looking forward to the fate of Sarkar Raj, Ramu continues to be relaxed. "I have always maintained that no single film is the end of road for me. Once Sarkar Raj comes, I would be getting started with the promotion of Contract. Yes, Sarkar Raj is quite important but so have all the films even before that I have made."

How about Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag? Has he truly forgotten all the flak? "I could see it coming. At the end of the day, I knew that I wasn't making Sholay there", says Ramu.

Oh really? But wasn't Aag always supposed to be the remake of Sholay? "What remake?", questions Ramu in a mocking tune, "You can't have a one line plot and claim that it is a remake. Yes, we started off with quite a few inputs from the classic. But then over the period of time, the setting changed, the situations changed; heck, the basic idea changed. The visual connect too was completely different as conveyed through a different style of photography."

Reflecting on the time gone by, Ramu says, "Right from the time the film's title was renamed to Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, there were signs of troubled. I was ridiculed, there were attempts to defeat my courage, I was called arrogant and what not!"

Yes, everyone knows the kind of horrifying response that the film got on its release. But there must have been some soul out there who would have liked the film? Did he come across anyone like that? "Out of 100 people I met, 90 disliked it. To be honest, I truly believe that those 10 people who liked Aag were mental patients", Ramu sets the record straight.

If you speak Tamil, Telegu, Malyalam, Marathi, Gujrati, Bengali and Hindi, Vidya Balan will surely greet you in the language you prefer. I chose Bengali, and to my amusement, the Parineeta actress began a conversation with me in faultless Bengali with the appropriate pronunciation.

Explaining her Kismet Konnection with this language, “When I began my modeling career, I only had Bengali directors. My first feature film was a Bengali film called Bhalo Theko, directed by Gautam Haldar opposite Joy Sengupta. Then I started shooting ads and music videos with Pradeep Sarkar. His entire team is full of Bengalis and then I did Parineeta. And so I picked up the language”.

The icing on the cake is when she pronounced Parineeta, just like the Bengalis do, “Porineeta”.. Well that sure made me want to brush up on my Bengali !!!

Mumbai’s not too hot for Salman Khan to cycle from Film City in Goregaon to his home in Bandra. “I love cycling. And what do I have to fear? Sun stroke?” he laughs when asked about this.

The whole six-pack fever doesn’t impress Salman, too. “Six-pack is the term guys who’ve just got into fitness use. The real men... we say ribbed.” The actor was responsible for bringing bulging biceps and toned physiques into vogue. “There’s a gym at every corner, they should pay me a royalty for this,” adds the popular muscle man who is now set to enter the small screen with a game show.

What prompted him to be a TV host? “When you are watching a film, you know that a person is acting. Here you can’t put on an act. There are no scripts, no dialogues. The real person reaches across to the audience. The small screen is as big as the big screen.” He enjoys interaction with contestants. “I have met some fantastic people. I ask them whatever I want and they ask me whatever they want. I loved answering their questions,” he says. Why, despite his image as an action hero, did he opt to host a game show? “It’s just the image that remains now. Legs, back, everything hurts. So I’d rather take it easy,” he laughs.

But Salman isn’t the only actor on the small screen. Shah Rukh Khan’s playing a host, while Akshay Kumar’s action-oriented show is all set to be launched. So, is the competition heating up? “Competition hai kahan? I want competition, but no one’s giving me any,” Salman says, adding, “It’s good if we all do well. There are people who wish ill for others, but that’s not cool.” Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgan, have turned directors. Salman, however, prefers to do one thing at a time. “Ek kaam acche se karo, bas. But there’s a shortage of good directors. If Aamir and Ajay have scripts for me, and if I like the scripts, I can act in them,” he says tongue-firmly-in-cheek.

How does it feel to be Salman Khan? “It’s a great feeling. But I don’t let it go to my head. There will be a time when that won’t be there. I shouldn’t get used to it otherwise I’ll go mad. I enjoy it and thank God for it,” he says. Does he fear losing his fame and success? “First, I don’t fear anything. And second, my name is Salman Khan. All this talk of who’s the Shahenshah, Badshah and King of Bollywood is of no consequence. All this is bonus. I never wanted all these things,” he says firmly.
