There is no denying the fact that Amitabh bachchan is way better actor as compared to Rajnikanth, although Rajni's fans would disagree.When it comes to starpower Rajnikanth outscores Amitabh in a big way, I agree that Rajni is only restricted to south india and enjoys great success in Japan for his unique stunts and mannerisms.Although Amitabh bachchan has great fan following but he has lost out his stardom which he enjoyed during eighties where movie with just a name of Amitabh bachchan used to dominate the box office, over the years torch has been taken by Khan power, whereas no newcomer has come even inch close to Rajni's starpower let alone overcome it.Rajni's movies dominate the box office by his name alone he works as a leading star of the movie and his last movie Chandramukhi grossed over 60 crore rupees at the box office, if we compare that to Amitabh bachchan, well he is reduced to mere supporting actor, and I can't seem to recall his last hit.

In my opinion there is reason why Rajni movies does really well at box office-Rajnikanth does one movie in the span of an year or two, whereas Amitabh bachchan is seen in any second movie we get to see
