Subhash Ghai is known for giving fresh faces a break in Bollywood.

This time, the fresh faces belong to Anurag Sinha and Aditi Sharma, the cast of Ghai's latest film Black & White releasing this Friday.

While Aditi is not exactly a stranger to films -- she acted in last year's flop, Khanna & Iyer -- she is still an unknown entity in the industry.

But now, the 2004 winner of a talent hunt -- India's Best Cine Star Ki Khoj organised by Zee Television Network in collaboration with Mukta Arts -- hopes her latest film changes all that. Over to Aditi.

Coming from a family of doctors in Lucknow -- her father, brother and sister are all health professionals -- Aditi chose to do something different.

She took up a commerce degree in college instead, and was planning to get an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) degree when the acting bug bit her.

When she told her parents about her decision, they were upset. But their views soon changed when Aditi won the Zee Cine Star show. Now, they are the ones cheering her on as her new film unveils this Friday.
When she went to Mukta Arts Limited for her first audition, she was asked to stand in front of the camera and answer random questions about her hometown. This, she later learnt, was Ghai's way of seeing how she faced the camera.

A week after the audition, Ghai himself telephoned Aditi to tell her that she was selected. Aditi was thrilled.

But on the first day of shooting, Aditi was terrified because she was warned by many that Ghai could not tolerate mistakes.

However, her fears were laid to rest when she discovered how patient he was. "He is very good to newcomers," she says, adding, "He explains each and every scene -- how to move and act. He knows eveything there is to know about filmmaking."

Aditi also said that Ghai would call her by her screen name to ensure that she is always in character.
Aditi plays a simple college girl, Shagufta, who falls for a terrorist (played by Anurag Sinha).

Aditi finds Anurag very intelligent. "He loves acting and take his career very seriously," she says.
